Britain votes on May 7 in a general election expected to be one of the country's closest ever as Prime Minister David Cameron battles to stay in office. Experts believe there will be no clear winner, meaning there could be days of uncertainty as Cameron's Conservatives and the main opposition Labour party, led by Ed Miliband, jostle for the right to form the next government. The clearest and simplest outcome, this would see one party form a government with a clear majority -- 326 out of 650 seats in the House of Commons. Cameron's current coalition government, which unites his Conservatives with the smaller Liberal Democrats, is one of only two exceptions.
